Aims of ANCAAR

  • to provide quality research on audit and assurance that will have wide-ranging impact on the practice of audit and assurance services in Australia
     
  • to host Visiting Scholars who will assist in raising the profile of the Centre and contributing to audit and assurance research
     
  • to contribute to policy-making in the field of audit and assurance in Australia as part of a wider institutional perspective
     
  • to utilise the critical mass of qualified researchers to win grants that can be used to initiate large-scale research projects
     
  • to provide a platform for conferences, public lectures and seminars of relevance to professional practitioners and researchers in the audit and assurance field
     
  • to utilise its shared resources and expertise to realise a substantial amount of investigation and litigation consulting opportunities and to provide associated policy advice
     
  • to harness the comparative strengths of staff in auditing and assurance services within the University and their connections with practitioners in private and public sectors to launch and teach executive education courses that would become beneficial to the wider community
