- to provide quality research on audit and assurance that will have
wide-ranging impact on the practice of audit and assurance services in
Australia
- to host Visiting Scholars who will assist in raising the profile of
the Centre and contributing to audit and assurance research
- to contribute to policy-making in the field of audit and assurance in
Australia as part of a wider institutional perspective
- to utilise the critical mass of qualified researchers to win grants
that can be used to initiate large-scale research projects
- to provide a platform for conferences, public lectures and seminars of
relevance to professional practitioners and researchers in the audit and
assurance field
- to utilise its shared resources and expertise to realise a substantial
amount of investigation and litigation consulting opportunities and to
provide associated policy advice
- to harness the comparative strengths of staff in auditing and
assurance services within the University and their connections with
practitioners in private and public sectors to launch and teach executive
